Born in Switzerland, inspired by vintage posters

InkPoster™ began as a personal idea before becoming a new way of thinking about art display. The story started in Switzerland in 2013 at PocketBook’s headquarters. A single vintage travel poster, “Lugano. Scene of Gandria Village” (1952) by Swiss artist Daniele Buzzi, sparked something simple but enduring. As more vintage posters were added, the office walls became a collection of places, moments and moods. But physical walls have limits, and art does not stand still. We began to imagine a different kind of frame, one that could preserve the character of printed art while allowing collections to evolve over time. It needed to be silent, ambient and paper-like, capable of capturing colour and texture without feeling like a screen. For years, the right technology did not exist. In 2018, a new generation of colour ePaper began to emerge, offering the refinement and fidelity needed to respect art’s subtlety. By 2024, the technology had reached a point where the original vision could finally be realised. InkPoster™ is the result, the world’s first colour ePaper art poster, designed to let art change while remaining calm, tactile and true to its origins.
