Warranty Terms

Dear Customer,

Thank you for choosing InkPoster. PocketBook International SA (“PocketBook”) appreciates your trust and guarantees the quality and reliable performance of InkPoster devices when used in accordance with the operating instructions provided in the user manual.

Please note that warranty obligations are country specific.

PocketBook does not provide a global or worldwide warranty. Warranty terms apply only in the country where the device was intended for sale by PocketBook, purchased, and certified or approved for use under local standards.

These Warranty Terms constitute a limited warranty and apply in addition to, and not instead of, your statutory consumer rights.

General warranty terms

Under this limited warranty, PocketBook will, at its discretion, repair or replace a defective device or defective parts.

Replacement parts or devices may be new or refurbished, provided they are equivalent to new in performance and functionality.

All replaced parts and devices become the property of PocketBook.

Any repair or replacement under this warranty is covered for the remainder of the original warranty period or for three months from the date the repaired or replaced device is returned to you, whichever is longer.

Before submitting a warranty claim or visiting an authorised service centre, please contact InkPoster customer support or an authorised service centre in your country. Contact details for authorised service centres are available at inkposter.co.uk under the “Support” section.

Unless otherwise required by local law, this warranty does not cover transport costs or risks associated with shipping the device to and from an authorised service centre.

You may only send your device for service from a country or region where PocketBook has an authorised service centre. If no authorised service centre exists in your country or region, you are responsible for delivering the device to an appropriate service centre at your own cost. PocketBook is not responsible for cross border shipping, customs clearance, or associated charges.

Diagnostics charges

You may be charged for diagnostic services if an authorised service centre determines that:

  • The issue is not covered by this warranty

  • No fault or malfunction is found

  • You decline the proposed warranty repair

Diagnostic fees vary by service centre and are not set by PocketBook.

Authorised repairs only

Only service centres authorised by PocketBook may carry out warranty repairs.

Any opening of the device, repair, modification, or interference carried out by unauthorised persons will void the warranty, except where local laws expressly prohibit such restrictions.

Where repairs are carried out by unauthorised third parties, PocketBook accepts no responsibility for resulting defects or damage.

Before sending your device for service, please back up all data and remove any personal or confidential information. PocketBook is not responsible for loss of data.

Warranty period

The warranty period for InkPoster devices is 24 months from the date of purchase, but no longer than 30 months from the date of manufacture.

The warranty period for batteries is 6 months from the date of manufacture or 6 months from the date of battery replacement, whichever applies.

Battery performance naturally degrades over time due to charge cycles, usage conditions, and storage. Reduced battery capacity over time is considered normal wear and tear and is not a defect.

To determine the remaining warranty period, an authorised service centre may check the manufacturing date stored in the device database.

If more than 24 months have passed since manufacture, the warranty start date will be determined based on valid proof of purchase showing the purchase date, model, serial number, and seller details.

If no valid proof of purchase is provided, or if documentation is incomplete or inaccurate, the warranty period will be calculated from the device’s manufacturing date.

If the warranty period has expired, PocketBook may still offer paid out of warranty service where technically possible.

Limitations of liability

To the extent permitted by law, PocketBook is not liable for losses exceeding the purchase price of the device, or for loss of use, loss of time, inconvenience, commercial loss, loss of profits or savings, or other indirect or consequential losses arising from device malfunction.

Nothing in this warranty limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Any implied warranties are limited to the duration of this limited warranty, except where such limitation is prohibited by law.

Warranty exclusions

This limited warranty does not cover:

  • Cables, adapters, and accessories supplied with the device

  • Normal wear and cosmetic damage including scratches, dents, stains, surface abrasion, or coating wear

  • Loss or corruption of data, settings, profiles, files, or software

  • Damage caused by incompatible ports, connectors, power sources, voltage fluctuations, or surges

  • Damage caused by unauthorised repairs, modifications, malware, or viruses

  • Damage resulting from misuse, improper handling, or failure to follow the user manual

  • Damage caused by use with non original accessories or third party products

  • Liquid damage or immersion

  • Mechanical damage including impact, drops, or pressure

  • Minor display variations inherent to E Ink technology, including uneven shading

  • Up to five non functioning pixels

  • Individual allergic or intolerance reactions to materials or coatings

Software warranty limitation

Device software and firmware are provided “as is”.

PocketBook does not guarantee that software is error free, uninterrupted, or compatible with third party software or files. PocketBook does not guarantee suitability for a specific user defined purpose beyond what is described in the documentation.

PocketBook may, at its discretion, update or reinstall firmware during warranty or post warranty service. Firmware installation or update is often a necessary part of diagnostics and repair.

Refusal to allow firmware installation or updates required for service is considered refusal of warranty service.

PocketBook recommends using the latest firmware version available via Wi Fi or through inkposter.co.uk under the “Support” section.

PocketBook and authorised service centres are not responsible for issues arising from use of outdated firmware versions.

Statutory rights

This warranty does not affect your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
